TJ Jones: It is Your Time
With Everett Golson out for this year and Tommy Rees likely being the guy to step in, the offensive dynamic will change dramatically. With Golson, it is more of a quarterback centered offense with him making a play and hitting anybody who is open.
Rees on the other hand is your typical dropback passer and relies totally on his go to receiver to make plays for him. For a season and a half it was Michael Floyd. Then the times he played last year, it was Tyler Eifert. With both of those guys gone, another receiver needs to step up.
It is also even tougher to depend on the running game with both Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood gone. That makes George Atkinson the most established runner and he is really a question mark especially with fumbles.
Of all the receivers on the roster the guy that appears most ready to be the featured target is TJ Jones. Last year he had 50 catches for 649 yards with 4 touchdowns. The next highest was Davaris Daniels with 31 catches for 491 yards but he didn't find the endzone.
That clearly makes Jones the primary target meaning he goes from a supporting role to the main weapon. That is not an easy transition so I hope he is ready because ready or not, it is your time to shine TJ Jones.
